Detectives look to identify arson suspect in Thorold incident

On Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, uniformed members of the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a car fire at Confederation Heights South Park parking lot located on Confederation Avenue in the City of Thorold.

Officers arrived on scene to find a maroon Hyundai Santa Fe on fire. The suspect or suspects fled prior to Police arrival and no one was located during a subsequent search of the area.

The vehicle was believed to be involved in a fail to remain vehicle collision the previous evening (11:20 p.m.) in Thorold. The vehicle is suspected to have struck a parked car and fled the scene in the area of Keefer Road and Coleman Court.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed the event to contact police.
