Grimsby resident charged with attempted murder

Hamilton Police have arrested a 20-year-old male for a serious assault that took place last month.

On Aug. 24, a man and his son were assaulted at the Tim Hortons located at 1242 Highway 8 in Stoney Creek. The incident began when the victims confronted a group of males in the parking lot after the group refused to lower their loud music, which was disturbing nearby homes. The confrontation quickly escalated into a physical altercation, during which one of the victims was struck on the head with a baseball bat, sustaining serious injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Grimsby resident Nicolas Cappella has been charged with the following offences:

  • Attempted murder
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Utter threats to cause death (x2)

This investigation is ongoing and police are appealing to the public for information leading to the arrest of other individuals involved in this incident.
