Thorold house cleaner charged in connection to theft from Welland residence

A 41-year-old Thorold woman faces charges in connection to a theft from a Welland residence.

On Friday Feb. 16, 2024 at 4:21 p.m. Niagara Regional Police Service officers responded to a call in Heather Court Welland. Information was that the home owner was missing jewellery and currency, according to a news release.  As a result of the investigation and with the assistance of Coins Unlimited helping trace the origins of the property, it was determined that a house cleaner allegedly stole the items from the residence. 

On June 7, 2024, Robin L. North of Thorold, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime for trafficking

North was released on a Form 10 – Undertaking with a future court date.

Officers have reason to believe there may be other victims of this offence.
