On Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at approximately 12:40 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines ) Uniform Officers, attended the Burgoyne Woods Park, in the City of St. Catharines, regarding possible human remains.
A member of the public contacted the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) when they located the remains, on a hike.
Investigation revealed that the remains were in fact human.
The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed.
The investigation remains ongoing by detectives out of 1 district, Niagara Regional Police Forensic Service and the office of the coroner.
