Police investigating shooting incident in Niagara Falls

On Jan. 4, 2023, at approximately 9:12 p.m., 2 district Niagara Falls – Niagara on the Lake, uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a Niagara Falls home for reports of a shooting.

Officers arrived on Armstrong Drive near Lauren Court. This is also near Montrose Road and Lundy’s Lane. The initial investigation determined that the homeowners had been within the residence when suddenly at least three bullets were shot through a front window. No one in the home was injured, and they sought refuge in the house and called 911. Attending officers found evidence of at least three bullets having been fired at the home.

Officers investigating this incident have located video surveillance that showed a white male with black hair, wearing a dark coloured hoodie, running north on Armstrong Drive. Further investigation, determined the suspect got into a grey Volkswagen Jetta driven by a male, described as South Asian with a moustache. Officers have not located the two unknown suspects or the involved Volkswagen.

Detectives from the 2 District detective office have been assigned to this investigation. They are being assisted by the NRPS Forensics Services Unit.  The circumstances and motive for this shooting remain under investigation. Anyone (residents or businesses) in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity for the period between 8:45 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2023.
