Police say they discovered a man suffering from serious injuries after checking on a person's wellbeing in St. Catharines earlier this month.
They are now seeking information from the public in their investigation.
On Aug. 10, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold), uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Merritt Street and Townline Road E to do a welfare check.
"Investigation revealed that a male victim was assaulted and injured," police said in a news release. "Niagara Emergency Medical Services attended and transported the male to hospital with serious injuries."
Detectives with 1 District are overseeing the investigation.
