Serious injuries reported in West Lincoln crash

One driver sustained life-threatening injuries, say police

On Nov. 27, 2024 at approximately 6:18 p.m., 8 District (Grimsby/West Lincoln/Lincoln) uniform officers with Niagara Regional Police Service, the West Lincoln Fire Department and Niagara Emergency Medical Services attended the area of Regional Road 20 South and South Grimsby Road 18 in the Township of West Lincoln for a serious motor vehicle collision.

Investigation revealed a 58-year-old male was operating a grey Chevrolet Blazer southbound on South Grimsby Road 18 and was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Regional Road 20. The vehicle proceeded to drive south when it was struck by a 61-year-old male operating a silver Nissan. The Nissan was travelling west on Regional Road 20.

Both drivers were transported to an out of region hospital. The 58-year-old male driver sustained serious injuries. The 61-year-old male driver sustained life-threatening injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service have taken carriage of the investigation.
