The Ontario Provincial Police Cyber-Enabled Fraud Team is currently helping out in an investment scam investigation where victims are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in fake crypto currency investments.

Investigators are warning the public not to engage with the following websites:

  • www[.]How2Crypto[.]com
  • www[.]How2Crypto[.]net

Police also issued a reminder that once crypto is sent, it's gone and government agencies do not accept cryptocurrencies.

In a situation where you're dealing with crypto, police also say to make sure you conduct your own due diligence, including asking questions and doing research before sending it.

For anyone who believes they have been scammed, contact your local police department and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
