Niagara Falls is getting ready to “take it to the limit” as Hotel California – The Original Eagles Tribute – hits the stage at the Greg Frewin Theatre on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
Formed in 1986, Hotel California has spent nearly four decades capturing the laid-back, country-infused spirit of the Eagles’ music. They have toured globally and earned a reputation as the ultimate tribute band, even sharing stages with The Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gretchen Wilson, and REO Speedwagon.
The Eagles dominated rock charts in the 1970s and 80s with over 100 million records sold, six Grammy Awards. Their timeless hits like "Take it Easy", “Heartache Tonight” and "Desperado" cemented their spot as one of rock’s most legendary and critically-acclaimed bands.
Hotel California’s lineup features some of the finest talent in the tribute scene, including bassist and vocalist Andy Lapointe, who has been with the band since 1987. Andy’s powerful vocals are on full display in Joe Walsh and Randy Meisner classics such as "Take It to the Limit" and "Rocky Mountain Way," and his high-energy performances continue to reel in audiences night after night.
Drummer and high-octane vocalist Jay Riehl delivers an uncanny Don Henley sound that captivates the audience. His own career is impressive – he’s worked with Justin Bieber, Dolly Parton, and Merle Haggard, as well as his work in earning five Gold and five Platinum status records.
The band is rounded out by Canadian rock scene veteran and ultra-versatile Al Langlade and Hotel California founding member Mike Dimoulas, another multi-instrumentalist who plays electric and acoustic guitar, keyboards, double-neck guitar, and talk box.
The event is not only a celebration of the Eagles’ music but also supports an important cause — Crime Stoppers of Niagara, a community program dedicated to promoting public safety in the Niagara Region.
Established in 1985, the organization works closely with the public, media, and the criminal justice system to prevent and solve serious crimes. By encouraging anonymous tips and community participation, Crime Stoppers has played a key role in reducing crime rates and fostering a safer environment for Niagara residents.
Committed to empowering the community, Crime Stoppers of Niagara encourages residents to take an active role in crime prevention by reporting suspicious activity and participating in community events. Their effective strategies and collaborative approach have made the organization a trusted resource for crime prevention and public safety, significantly contributing to the well-being of the Niagara community.
