In 2017 the City of Thorold was the recipient of the Prince of Wales Prize for Leadership in Heritage Preservation. Since that time, flags have been raised in the downtown area to let residents and visitors know about the prestigious award. Heritage Tourism is a key component in the tourism strategy adopted by the City.

Some photos of the homes appeared in Thorold's daily "Good Morning" feature and became very popular among readers. To inform residents and to promote Thorold to online readership around the world, the Good Morning post will feature all 50 of the current designated properties.

To learn more about Thorold's win, read the previous Thorold News article here outlining the top 10 reasons it was bestowed upon this city.
