Meet your newly elected councillors

Two new faces will make their city council debut, while one former councillor returns. Five sitting council members were re-elected

The voting public has spoken and the results are in.

Two new faces will make their city council debut, while one former councillor returns.

This is the first time Tim O'Hare and Mike De Divitiis are elected to city council. Former Thorold Mayor Henry D'Angela hasn't been on city council since 2006 but now he's back.

Carmen DeRose, Anthony Longo, Ken Sentance, Nella Dekker, and Jim Handley were all re-elected by voters.

Victoria Wilson did not manage to secure another term.

Over at the regional level Tim Whalen was re-elected with 67.22% of the vote. His opponent Daryl Wilkinson got 32.78%.

The results of the election will now have to be certified by the city's clerk Matthew Trennum.

Voter turnout was lower this year. Only 4508 ballots were cast, compared to 5219 in 2018.
