Not even the wind and rain could stop the team at the 51st annual Andy Koschok Memorial Niagara Region Golf Tournament from executing a successful event. Held every July at Legends on the Niagara Golf Course, the tournament was once again a fun-filled day on the links with participants and sponsors raising over $60,000 to support children’s charities across the region.

Niagara Region staff and tournament committee members stopped by Bethesda’s head offices in Thorold Nov. 14 to present a cheque for $31,487.73 that will go directly to helping individuals and families with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities access the services and supports they need faster.

Fortunate to have been a beneficiary of this tournament numerous times since 2016, Bethesda is once again excited for the opportunity to utilize these funds to help individuals in the community to live their best lives possible.

Chief Executive Office Paul McGowan said, "Thanks to the generous support of the Andy Koschok Memorial Niagara Region Golf Tournament, these funds will have a direct and lasting impact on children and youth across Niagara living with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. With this contribution, we can continue to provide life-changing supports that empower individuals to lead more independent, fulfilling lives. We are incredibly grateful to the tournament organizers and participants for helping us make a meaningful difference in our community."

This annual tournament takes place each year in honour of Andy Koschok, who worked for Niagara Region’s Public Works department and organized the charity golf tournament until his passing in 2003. However, since then, regional employees have stepped in to keep the event going strong while giving back to those in the region who need it most.
