Speed bumps coming to a street near you

City council has approved the installation of traffic calming measures in downtown Thorold, Confederation Heights and Allanburg

Traffic in Thorold is about to become a whole lot calmer.

City council has approved a contract with Brennan Paving & Construction to install traffic calming measures in downtown Thorold, Confederation Heights and Allanburg.

In Downtown Thorold, a speed bump will be installed on Front St. N, and new markings will be installed along the intersection with McNamara St.

In Confederation Heights, speed bumps will be installed on Winterberry Blvd, Juneberry Rd, and Hawthorn Ave. New all-way stops will also be installed along Hawthorn Ave, at the intersections with Winterberry Blvd, Ironwood Crescent and Juneberry Rd.

In Allanburg, speed bumps will be installed along Centre St and Barron Rd.

The project will cost the city $67,767 (excl. HST), and will commence on November 18, 2024, with an expected completion of December 13, 2024.
