Friends of Fort George are holding a special fundraising dinner fashioned after the popular Sublime Beefsteak Society of England. Money raised will support support student employment opportunities at Fort George and Brock’s Monument.

Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024 At Navy Hall Doors open at 6:30 p.m., dinner begins at 7 p.m. Join the Friends of Fort George for a special fundraiser dinner, which will be fashioned after the popular Sublime Beefsteak Society of England. Started in the 1700s, the Beefsteak Society came to symbolize patriotic and liberal concepts of prosperity. Throughout the 19th century, the club included royalty, statesmen and military leaders.

The evening will include a steak dinner, music, an auction and great entertainment. All proceeds from the evening will help to support student employment opportunities at Fort George and Brock’s Monument.
