Break and enter leads to foot chase in Niagara Falls

On Wednesday March 23, 2022, at 5:55 a.m. Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls) were engaged in a foot patrol initiative in the area of Queen Street and Chrysler Ave, in the City of Niagara Falls.

After hearing the sound of breaking glass, officers entered into an investigation and located a suspect exiting a bar/restaurant via a broken glass window.  The suspect was carrying stolen consumable goods and tools, in the amount of $690 dollars.  Damage to the window is estimated to be $2000 dollars.

Joshua Morningstar (30 years) of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the offence of Break and Enter – contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Morningstar was held for a bail hearing and will attend the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines via video link on March 24, 2022.
