Head-on crash in Niagara Falls sends four to hospital

Two people suffered life-threatening injuries

On Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 at approximately 3:15 p.m., 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Kalar Road and Montrose Road in the City of Niagara Falls for a serious motor vehicle collision. 

Investigation revealed a 52-year-old male was operating a gray Chevrolet Equinox northbound on Kalar Road. Simultaneously a 63-year-old female was operating a white Jeep Compass, with a 63-year-old passenger and a 64 year old passenger southbound on Kalar Road. Both vehicles collided head on.  

The 52-year-old male was transported to an out of regional hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The 63-year-old driver was transported to an out of region hospital with life-threatening injuries. She is in stable condition.

The two female passengers were transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit have taken carriage of the investigation.

Anyone who may have been in the area or anyone who may have video or dash cam footage is asked to contact detectives.
