Multiple charges laid following suspicious persons call in Lincoln

Police say two masked suspects were attempting to climb a balcony and forcibly enter a residence

On Friday, March 21, 2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) assigned to 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln/West Lincoln) responded to the area of Connor Drive and Mountain Street in the Town of Lincoln for a Suspicious Person call for service.

Initial information received was that two masked suspects were attempting to climb a balcony and forcibly enter a residence. Additionally, a suspect vehicle, identified as a white BMW, was observed parked in front of the targeted residence.

Responding officers conducted a coordinated traffic stop on the BMW effectively preventing its escape. Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of a 9mm Glock handgun, a quantity of illegal drugs, and a quantity of Canadian Currency. As a result, a female suspect was arrested.

The two suspects attempting to gain entry to the residence fled the area on foot. In response, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) mobilized additional resources, including personnel from 3 District (Welland/Pelham), the Marine Unit, the K9 Unit, and the Emergency Task Unit (ETU), to aid in the search for the suspects.

As a result, both suspects were located and arrested.

Courtney Wannan (29 years) of Toronto faces the following criminal charges:

  • Break Enter and Commit Theft Over $5000
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing Possession Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking

Camarr Brown (24 years) of no fixed abode faces the following criminal charges:

  • Break Enter and Commit Theft Over $5000
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing Possession Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking

Tristan Hudson-Rider (29 years) of Mississauga faces the following criminal charges:

  • Break Enter and Commit Theft Over $5000
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowing Possession Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking

As a result of the investigation police seized the following:

  • 2 kilograms of suspected cocaine
  • 20 suspected fentanyl tablets
  • Approximately 60 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • A large quantity of jewellery valued at more that $100,000
  • In excess of $5000 worth of Canadian currency

Detectives assigned to 8 District Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have taken carriage of the investigation and are being supported the Forensic Services Unit (FSU).

WANNAN, BROWN, and HUDSON-RIDER were held in custody and scheduled to attend a bail hearing on Saturday, March 22, 2025, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines. As a result, all accused parties were remanded into custody.
