In the early morning hours of March 27, 2022, Niagara Regional Police Service, 6 District Port Colborne uniform patrol officers responded to a weapons call at a restaurant/bar in the Town of Port Colborne.
Information was received that a male had attended the location and displayed a firearm after a minor argument. A fight ensured and the male fled the scene.
Officers on scene did recover a pellet handgun with two magazines.
Investigation by the 3 District Welland Detective Office has resulted in the identification and arrest of a suspect.
Patrick C. Sassano, 23 years old, of Fort Erie has been arrested and charged with the criminal offences of:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Carry concealed weapon
Sassano was held in custody for a video bail hearing at the Robert S. K. Welch Court House in St. Catharines on March 28, 2022.
