St. Catharines woman accused of stealing over $50K from her workplace

Police say thefts took place between July 2020 and January 2021

In January of 2021, detectives from the Central Fraud Unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), commenced in investigation into a theft that took place at a St. Catharines medical office.

Investigation revealed that between July of 2020 and January of 2021 a female employee had allegedly stolen in excess of $50,000. The suspect is believed to have issued refunds to her personal credit card.

As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the female suspect.

On May 11, 2021, the suspect was arrested.

Erica Coughlin-Phillips (37 years old), of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offence of:

  • Theft over $5,000

Coughlin-Phillips was held in custody and attended a bail hearing that took place on May 11, 2021.
