In January of 2019, the 1 District Street Crime Unit of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) began an investigation into the trafficking of illicit drugs within the city of St. Catharines. As a result, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant was obtained for a multi-unit residence on Niagara Street, between Church Street and North Street in St. Catharines.
On Feb. 6, 2019, the CDSA search warrant was executed with the assistance of the NRPS Emergency Task Unit given that there was information of a possible weapon. Ten persons were found inside the residence.
As a result of the search, detectives seized over $2,200 in illicit drugs, and $5,800 cash. Three persons are being held for bail. Seven other persons arrested at the scene were released unconditionally.
• Corey Michael Goddard (31 years old) of St. Catharines is charged with the alleged offences of:
• possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of proceeds obtained by crime
• fail to comply with a probation order
Kaitlyn Elizabeth Best (30 years old) of St. Catharines is charged with the alleged offences of:
• possession of a pchedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of a schedule I substance (opioid)
• possession of proceeds obtained by crime
Sean A. Rosenthal (28 years old) of St. Catharines is charged with the alleged offences of:
• possession of a dchedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of a schedule I substance (opioid)
• possession of proceeds obtained by crime
A person that had been found in the residence at the time of the ETU warrant execution subsequently received medical treatment following their interaction with our officers.
As result, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been contacted. The SIU has invoked their mandate and have commenced an investigation. We are prohibited from providing further information.
